There Came Two Angels *Completed*

There Came Two Angels: A Loy Lombard Mystery
by Julia Lieber Posted by Hello
I was able to open this birthday present early. I had told Cindi I wanted to start reading Lesbian fiction and this is my first installment of many I am sure! It is a lesbian mystery novel about a private detective who is working to uncover the truth about a murder involving a gay hustler, a Republican Senator, and an extreme right-wing "Family" organization. Sounds interesting to me! I imagine it'll be a good read.
**Update**
I finished it this evening; it was a quick read, which was nice for once. I enjoyed it, suspenseful with a good story line; everything I'd expect and want from a mystery novel. I look forward to reading this next one.

How to Change Your Name in California
by Lisa Sedano Posted by Hello
We haven't purchased this book yet, but it's very high up on our list. It was just recently recommended to Cindi because we are going to be hyphenating our names in the near future, something we are both very exited about. Because we are not a straight couple getting married it's a very difficult and confusing process. From what I hear this book spells it all out step by step. I'll update after we've read it!

The Good Body *Completed*

The Good Body
by Eve Ensler Posted by Hello
I was feeling a bit depressed today, but I cheered up quite a bit when this book arrived in the mail. It was one of the other books Cindi got from the gay and lesbian book club. [Insightout] A gift for our "house". It isn't very long, only 112 pages, but very powerful still. I am far from fat but weigh the most I ever have in my life and it's been a hard adjustment to make. Reading this book filled with women's thoughts on their own bodies reminded me that even feminists have crazy ideals with it comes to their bodies. I don't want to pass my disdain for my growing tummy and hips on to my children. I've got to start now. My only complaint is I would have liked it to have been longer, something I could have read over several days so it had more time to sink in.

I saw this book on Powell's and knew I had to have it! I lucked out and Cindi surprised me with it after her work trip to Palo Alto. I love his novels, they never fail to shock and horrify me. There are still a few I don't own but those I do are all signed copies. I don't know why but it's become a trend for me. I've started the book and so far I like it! [I tend to read more than one book at a time, I'm not sure why.] I'm on chapter three my stomach is already turning, success!

Critical Thinking Posted by Hello
Some may not count this as current reading, but I do! I am reading this for my Critical Thinking class, it's a text book so it's not always the easiest read, but it's interesting. I doubt I'll read the entire book as it's not required for my course.
