A Good Yarn
by Debbie Macomber
My aunt gave this book to me today. Being that it's set in a yarn store she thought I might like it. It'll be a fast read which will be nice when I have a relaxing Saturday at home avoiding the 100+ degree weather.

Mormonism and the Negro *Completed*

Mormonism and the Negro
by John J. Stewart
This book is as horrible as it sounds. My family is planning to move to Colorado in the fall and is already cleaning and packing. I've been telling my Grandmother for quite some time that if she ever wants to get rid of any of her books that I would love them. She was a bit confused since I officially left the Mormon church two years ago and a large majority of her books are regarding Mormon history and teachings. But most of them are out of print. The church has since changed their position on many of these subjects and enjoys pretending these books and teachings either don't exist or they misrepresent themselves and their history. I want proof of these old teachings and that like everything else the Mormon church can and does change. I started reading this book today with many exclamations of "Oh my god!", "Whatever!" and "Ha!". It's quite unbelievable but still very interesting to read. Though I have quite a time trying to understand their backwards logic and justification for years of indoctrinated racism.

How to Change Your Name in California (11th Edition)
by Lisa Sedano Posted by Picasa
We finally ordered this book, I'd posted the 10th Edition last June. Luckily when we placed the order the new edition was available. The more up-to-date the information the better! We'll have to figure how much it is going to cost and when we can afford it. I can't wait to share names with my lady!
**Update**
We finally took advantage of this book and filed our name change papers at the courthouse on Thursday June 15th. We now have to wait for the judge to sign the papers and then we have to run an add once a week for four weeks to make sure nobody will object to our new names. After that we will officially be hyphenated!

In the Shadow of No Towers *Completed*

In the Shadow of No Towers
by Art Spiegelman
I was very excited to see that this book was available on Zooba and quickly added it to the top of my list. I unfortunately have never read any of Art Spiegelman's other graphic novels, but have heard wonderful things about them. One of my goals is to get a larger collection of graphic novels, this book will get me on the right track.
**Update**
It arrived today and I'm surprised at how large it is. I can't wait to read it though it definitely won't be a book I'll be able to take with me to read on the bus or on my lunch break.
**Update**
Once I allowed myself to sit down and read this book it didn't take me long to finish it though I'm sure I'll be going back to read it in the near future as I'm sure there will things I've missed.

The Well of Lost Plots *Completed*

The Well of Lost Plots
by Jasper Fforde
I kindly asked Cindi if this could be her November pick from Zooba, she said of course. I wish I had it right now so I could read it. I don't expect it'll be here for three and half weeks or so as we just received her October pick on Saturday.
**Update**
This book got put on hold and will be our December pick from Zooba which should be shipping any day.
**Update**
It arrived today and has been added to my to-read pile. It may even interrupt my Anne Rice reading.
**Update**
I am finally going to read this book. I'll update once I get started. I'm sure I'm going to love it as I have the other two books in this series.
**Update**
No surprised I love it! I had thought of all sorts of whitty things to say about this book and they have all left my brain. With every book he gets better and I'm already looking forward to the next book.

The Lesbian Parenting Book: A Guide to Creating Families and Raising Children
I had a little extra money so I purchases this book as a surprise for my wife. We are now in the first stages of planning the next addition to our family.
**Update**
We've been reading it a bit when we're not too tired. It's good but it glosses over a lot of topics I feel deserve more attention. We'll definitely need to supplement this with other books.
